Il disco è da molti considerato il miglior lavoro della band, e rappresenta il primo lavoro di stile progressive composto da Neal Morse. Fu scritto a cavallo tra il 1990 e il 1991, ma registrato e pubblicato solamente qualche anno dopo.
La versione europea e statunitense del disco hanno due differenti copertine.[1] L'album è stato ristampato dalla Inside Out Music nel 2004 con una traccia bonus.[2]
