L'EP venne annunciato il 4 giugno e divenne disponibile per il pre-ordine dello stesso giorno[4]. L'EP presenta brano principale Zimzalabim[5], ed è il primo EP di una serie[6].


Descrizione


L'EP è stato chiamato ReVe in quanto entrambi significa Red Velvet ed è la parola "reve", che significa sogno o fantasia in francese[7]. È anche il nome di un "personaggio robotico" immaginario che era una mascotte per il loro secondo tour, Redmare, che appare anche nel loro materiale promozionale[6]. Il singolo principale "Zimzalabim" è stato inoltre descritto come "avvincente electro pop con batteria ritmica e melodie cool"[6].


Promozione


L'EP venne annunciato attraverso i social media il 4 giugno 2019, con un'immagine promozionale di una moneta d'oro con i nomi dei membri della band, il titolo e la data su di essa[8]. Il 10 giugno, il gruppo confermò il singolo principale "Zimzalabim" attraverso i loro social media[5].

The ReVe Festival: Day 1 (occasionally referred as Day 1) is the third special extended play and the .mw-parser-output .tooltip-dotted{border-bottom:1px dotted;cursor:help}tenth overall by South Korean girl group Red Velvet. Released on June 19, 2019, through SM Entertainment, the extended play served as the first installation of the group's The ReVe Festival trilogy, which was later followed by Day 2 and Finale. An electro-pop and dance-pop record, the EP contains six tracks that sees the group exploring new genres.[5] Its production was handled by various songwriters and production teams, including Caesar & Loui, Ollipop, Moonshine, Trinity Music, Ylva Dimberg, Cazzi Opeia, Ryan S. Jhun, amongst others.
