Con l'abbandono del gruppo del cantante melodico e chitarrista Johnny Franck, Caleb Shomo non solo diventa l'unico cantante degli Attack Attack!, ma produce e mixa nella sua interezza il loro ultimo album, che rispetto alle precedenti produzioni della band presenta un suono ritenuto dalla critica più duro e coerente[1], con influenze pop ma con meno sonorità elettroniche[4], e incentrato maggiormente sul metal[5].

Alla fine del 2012 Caleb Shomo e John Delgado lasciano la formazione, e nella primavera successiva gli Attack Attack! si scioglieranno definitivamente[6].

This Means War is the third studio album by American metalcore band Attack Attack!.[3] It was released on January 17, 2012 through Rise Records. Initially scheduled to be produced by John Feldmann (who previously produced tracks for the band's reissue of their self-titled album), production was instead handled by frontman Caleb Shomo in his home studio,[2] making it the band's only album not to be produced by Joey Sturgis.
