This Time Around è anche il titolo della canzone contenuta nello stesso album ed estratta come secondo singolo.
Il disco
L'album è di stile diverso rispetto al precedente, meno pop, ma comunque variegato: si passa da ballad pop a canzoni con venature rock. Taylor, il lead singer del trio in I Wish That I Was There lascia questo ruolo al fratello batterista e il più piccolo della band, l'allora quindicenne Zac.
Non ha riscosso lo stesso successo di vendite del precedente Middle of Nowhere con il quale la band era divenuta famosa nel 1997, fermandosi a quota 1 milione di copie vendute. Apprezzato comunque a livello di critica.[1]
Il primo e principale singolo estratto dall'album è If Only, presentato al Festivalbar a Napoli nel mese di giugno.[2] La stessa band nel 1997 aveva presentato sempre al Festivalbar la canzone MMMBop, che li aveva resi noti.[3]
In seguito uscirono dallo stesso album come singoli This Time Around e Save Me.

This Time Around is the second studio album by American pop rock group Hanson, released in 2000. Although Hanson had several albums in between, This Time Around is their first standard studio release since 1997's Middle of Nowhere. This Time Around did not achieve the commercial success of its predecessor Middle of Nowhere. The album does not feature as many bubblegum pop style tunes as Middle of Nowhere; instead, Hanson opted to focus on a more classic rock sound, or as MTV.com stated, "stadium rock".[1] The album also features numerous ballads, with songs such as "Sure About It" and "A Song to Sing" covering the themes of teenage insecurity and loneliness, much like "Weird" from Middle of Nowhere.
