È il brano di apertura dell'album Under the Influence dal quale viene estratto come terzo ed ultimo singolo ed è anch'esso distinto da evidenti contenuti boogie rock.
Ne esiste anche una versione suonata dal vivo con un'orchestra sinfonica di 72 elementi, inclusa nel CD “Night of the Proms Vol. 6”.
Il brano si inserisce in un periodo di non floride vendite di singoli ad opera del longevo gruppo inglese e va al n. 53 delle charts britanniche. Ottiene tuttavia abbastanza successo dal vivo, ed è una delle canzoni preferite dal cantante e autore Francis Rossi.

"Twenty Wild Horses" is a single released by the British Rock band Status Quo in 1999. It was included on the album Under the Influence.[2] The song also entered in Francis Rossi's solo repertoire, along with another song from the same album, "Blessed Are the Meek"; the two songs were included on Rossi's 2011 live album.[3] Rossi described the song's phrase "twenty wild horses and 500 men" as sounding incredibly good, and as the melody was saying there's a sound in it.[4]- [it] Twenty Wild Horses
