Twilight venne utilizzata senza autorizzazione per lo spot giapponese del 1982 della Toyota Celica XX.[1] Venne anche usata come brano finale nel film del 2009-2010 di Burton Snowboards The B Movie , con la maggior parte del team Burton che fa snowboard su una "B" costruita sulla neve.


Daicon IV

Il pezzo fu sfruttato, sempre senza il consenso del gruppo o della casa discografica[2], per il cortometraggio Daicon IV del 1983, atto ad aprire l'anime convention omonima ad Osaka.[3] Nel 2005, come omaggio a questi, la composizione venne scelta come sigla per la serie televisiva drammatica Densha Otoko, che ha un otaku come protagonista.[3] Con lo stesso fine celebrativo, fu la canzone di apertura del concorso AMV dell'Otakon dal 2008 in poi, ad eccezione del 2017.[4]

"Twilight" is a song written by Jeff Lynne for English rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), originally released on their 1981 album Time. The lyrics tell of a man who falls asleep while in a twilight state, where he imagines everything in his life that is going to happen to him. They contribute to the album's overarching theme of time travel.[1] ELO writer Barry Delve says that "a cacophony of sound effects...transport us chaotically to the year 2095" to start the album and that the song "doesn't stop or pause for at least 2 minutes," making the song "one of the most exciting experiences ELO ever gave you."[2] Delve suggests that the piano break is influenced by Sergei Rachmaninoff.[2]
