Blasted Mechanism or simply, Blasted is a Portuguese electro-rock band known for its highly theatrical live shows involving elaborated alien-themed costumes as a backdrop to their music.
The band was founded in 1995 by Karkov and Valdjiu. New members joined later to form the current line up. As they like to put it "they weren't created but invented", blasting into the Portuguese music scene with a very different sound and visuals.
They quickly became known for their extravagant audiovisual performances involving alien and tribal looking musicians and an irreverent, upbeat attitude. Over the years, they developed a unique musical style that mixes alternative rock, electronic music, reggae, dub and folk.

Blasted Mechanism ist eine portugiesische Band, die 1995 von Karkov und Valdjiu gegründet wurde. Obwohl die Band mit bis zu 50.000 Konzertbesuchern in Portugal berühmt war, wurde sie erst mit ihrer Nominierung beim MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 über die Grenzen Portugals hinaus deutlich bekannter.

Blasted Mechanism es una banda portuguesa de rock alternativo, compuesta por los miembros Karkov (voz), Valdjiu (bambuleco, guitarra), Ary (bajo), Syncron (batería), Winga (percusión) y Zymon (guitarra, cítara, teclado). Aunque su discografía está centrada en el rock, su música también recurre a varios elementos electrónicos. La banda fue formada en 1996 siendo conocida por los disfraces de extraterrestres que usan en los conciertos.
