Macabre is an American extreme metal band from Chicago, Illinois, United States.[1] Since their formation in 1985, the band has featured the same three members with no lineup changes. The group's style blends thrash metal, death metal, and grindcore (sometimes with nursery rhymes and folk melodies). Lyrically Macabre have a strong focus on serial killers, mass murderers and humorous elements.[2] The group is currently signed to Nuclear Blast.

Influences

Macabre's music was strongly influenced by US and UK hardcore, grindcore, and death metal acts, ranging from Venom, The Accüsed, Suicidal Tendencies, and Cryptic Slaughter to Possessed and Napalm Death. Macabre's dark sense of humor alienated casual metal listeners, however it helped to gain a small but strong cult status.[2]

Macabre — американская группа экстремального металла из города Чикаго, штат Иллинойс.[1] Стиль ансамбля представляет смесь трэш-метала, дэт-метала и грайндкора, иногда с использованием детских стишков и народных мелодий. Сами музыканты называют свой уникальный стиль «murder metal» (англ. «убийственный металл»)[2]. Тематика произведений часто связана с серийными убийцами, массовыми убийствами и проникнута чёрным юмором. Большинство текстов основаны на реальных событиях и посвящены настоящим печально известным персонажам. Содержание песен исторически точно, и участники группы были лично знакомы и встречались с некоторыми осуждёнными серийными убийцами, такими как Джон Уэйн Гейси. Коллектив также имеет сайд-проект под названием Macabre Minstrels, в рамках которого они исполняют акустические «песни у костра». В данный момент ансамбль подписан на лейбле Nuclear Blast Records.
