Surf Curse is an American surf rock band formed in 2013 in Reno, Nevada. It currently consists of Nick Rattigan (lead vocals, drums), Henry Dillon (bass) and Jacob Rubeck and Noah Kholl (guitars).[1]

History


Since the band's formation, they have released four full-length albums and one extended play.[2] Though they are originally from Reno, Nevada, they have since moved to Los Angeles, California, where they have become a part of the local DIY, all-ages punk scene. In 2016, the band played at the annual Beach Goth festival, hosted by Eric Andre and The Growlers.[3]

In May 2021, "Freaks" reached number 64 on the UK Singles Chart, eight years after it first appeared on their debut album Buds.[4]

Surf Curse's music has been described as surf rock,[5] lo-fi,[6] garage pop,[7] surf punk,[8] post-punk,[9] surf pop,[10] indie rock,[11] indie pop,[12] and jangle pop.[7]
