Vertical Hold was an Australian musical group from 1980 thru 1985, who had considerable success in their home state of South Australia (#1 & #3 singles on Adelaide charts), jumping from RCA to WEA labels, but had little national success. Renamed as "The Gladiators" (minus Frost) in 1985, they featured with "Strange Love" on the RCA compilation LP "S.A. Brewing". Lead singer Mick Michalopoulos died in 2016, aged 60. Vertical Hold never reformed.
