Yellow Matter Custard was a Beatles tribute supergroup consisting of Mike Portnoy, Neal Morse, Paul Gilbert and Matt Bissonette. Kasim Sulton played bass with the band in 2011, replacing Bissonette.

They take their name from a line in "I Am the Walrus", by the Beatles: "Yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog's eye".

Ty Tabor (King's X) was originally approached to play guitar for the group, but was unable due to the King's X touring schedule.[1]

Conceived as more of a project than a band, they have only performed a total of five times: twice in 2003 (May 17 at Upper Montclair, New Jersey and May 18 at B.B. King's Blues Club, New York), and three times in 2011. Due to scheduling conflicts, Matt Bissonette was unable to play with the band in 2011, and thus was replaced by Kasim Sulton.[2]

Yellow Matter Custard es el nombre de un supergrupo tributo a The Beatles, integrado por Neal Morse, Matt Bissonette, Paul Gilbert y Mike Portnoy, para un par de presentaciones realizadas en Nueva York en 2003, reuniéndose posteriormente en 2011, para realizar 3 conciertos en la misma ciudad. La primera grabación que vio la luz como DVD y CD doble, bajo el nombre "One Night in New York City", fue la del 18 de mayo de ese año, realizada en el club B.B. King de New York, mientras que la segunda, "One More Night in New York City", fue la del 28 de febrero de 2011. Por un lapso de 2 horas, Mike (exbaterista de Dream Theater, Transatlantic, OSI, Liquid Tension Experiment, Liquid Trio Experiment, Avenged Sevenfold, Adrenaline Mob); Neal (fue integrante de la Bandas americanas de Rock Progresivo Spock`s Beard y Transatlantic, ahora cantante y compositor de rock progresivo Cristiano, con quien ha colaborado Mike); Matt (exbajista de Ringo Starr y su banda, así como de Mustard Seeds, Jughead, David Lee Roth, The Squirts, Joe Satriani, Electric Light Orchestra); y Paul (fundador de Racer X y guitarrista de Mr. Big), interpretaron 31 melodías de prácticamente toda la historia Beatle, aunque haciendo un poco hincapié en el período de evolución (es decir, a partir de Help!, Revolver y Seargent Pepper's). En la segunda presentación el repertorio aumentó a 40 temas, manteniendo la inclinación hacia el período de evolución, aunque se agregaron algunos temas de la primera época.
