El grupo ha sido comparado con grupos como Weezer, Nada Surf, entre otros, así mismo forma parte también de la escena del rock llamado geek rock. Su mayor éxito es el sencillo de 1991 titulado "Grey Cell Green".

Es considerado un grupo de culto, Ned's Atomic Dustbin conserva su escena musical conservándolo del Grebo. Ha tocado a lado de grupos como EMF, The Wedding Present, Cud, entre otros.

El grupo no ha sacado un álbum desde 1995, pero desde su regreso en el 2008, solo ha tocado parcialmente.

Ned's Atomic Dustbin are an English rock band formed in Stourbridge, West Midlands, in November 1987. The band took their name from an episode of radio comedy programme The Goon Show.[1] The band is unusual for using two bass-players in their line-up: Alex Griffin plays melody lines high up on one bass, and Matt Cheslin plays the regular bass lines on the other. This gives the band a tense and highly driven sub-hardcore sound featuring distorted effects-laden guitar and energetic drums.[1]

Ned’s Atomic Dustbin дважды распадались и реформировались; с 2008 года они продолжают выступать в оригинальном составе.
