Cool and Dre est un duo de producteurs américains composé de Marcello « Cool » Valenzano (né à Miami, Floride) et Andre « Dre » Christopher Lyon (né à New York).

Ne doit pas être confondu avec LL Cool J ou Dr. Dre.


Biographie


Marcello et Andre se rencontrent au North Miami High School et lancent ensemble leur propre label, Epidemic Records[1]. Ils signent un contrat avec Jive Records en 2003 concernant la distribution de leur premier artiste, Dirtbag. C'est en 2004 qu'ils s'étaient fait connaître fortement avec le titre New York de Ja Rule avec Jadakiss et Fat Joe. En 2007, ils sont présents dans le film documentaire français, Beat Makerz - The Documentary, sur les producteurs de hip-hop. En 2009, Cool and Dre produisent la chanson Da Da Da de Lil Wayne[2].

En août 2010, le duo établit officiellement un partenariat avec le label Cash Money Records[3]. En avril 2011, le duo signe un contrat avec Interscope Records grâce à Cash Money (l'argent comptant est la première fois sous un autre label Universal) également de distribuer leur label Epidemic Records.

En 2015, le duo produit des titres tels que BRRRR de Fat Brel, Wale et Rick Ross[4], et Rhymes Like Weight de Curren$y[5]. En 2016, le duo produit la nouvelle mixtape de Curren$y The Owners Manual[6]

Cool & Dre are a record production and songwriting duo from North Miami, Florida, consisting of Marcello "Cool" Antonio Valenzano and Andre "Dre" Christopher Lyon. The duo are best known for their work with Terror Squad founder Fat Joe, first collaborating on the albums Jealous Ones Still Envy and Loyalty in 2001 and 2002 respectively, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter II, Tha Carter III, Tha Carter IV, and Tha Carter V, and more recently their work with Jay-Z and Beyonce on their collaborative album, Everything Is Love, 2018.
