It formed in 2004 and signed to Prosthetic Records.[1] The band is influenced by other progressive acts such as Cynic and Dream Theater. The band gained notice as part of the Progressive Nation 2009 tour with Dream Theater, Zappa Plays Zappa and Bigelf.

Scale The Summit — американская группа из США, штат Техас, исполняющая музыку в жанре инструментальный прогрессивный метал. Группа была образована в 2004 году и свои альбомы выпускает на метал лейбле Prosthetic Records. Считается, что основное влияние на творчество коллектива оказали такие группы, как Cynic и Dream Theater. Однако в отличие от большинства других прог-метал-групп Scale The Summit не используют в своих композициях вокал и исполняют инструментальную музыку. Группа обратила на себя значительное внимание после персонального приглашения Майка Портного (Dream Theater) для участия в The Progressive Nation 2009 Tour вместе с Dream Theater, Zappa Plays Zappa and Bigelf.
