Depuis sa formation, le groupe Shadows Fall a sorti cinq albums studio, deux compilations et un DVD live. En 2007, le groupe a été nommé au Grammy Award dans la catégorie Meilleure Performance Metal pour la chanson "Redemption", de l'album Threads of Life.

Although Shadows Fall has experienced several line-up changes, for most of its recording career, Shadows Fall has been composed of Jon Donais (lead guitar, backing vocals), Matt Bachand (rhythm guitar, clean vocals), Paul Romanko (bass), Brian Fair (lead vocals), and Jason Bittner (drums).
