Biographie


Flipmode Squad se compose initialement de Baby Sham, Lord Have Mercy, Rampage, Rah Digga, et de Spliff Star, et apparaît pour la première fois dans l'album The Coming de Busta Rhymes en [1],[2].

Le premier album de Flipmode, The Imperial, est publié le [3], tandis que Rampage et Rah Digga enregistrent en solo. L'album atteint la 15e place du Billboard 200 et la troisième place des R&B Albums[4]. L'album Scouts Honor...by Way of Blood de Rampage est publié en 1997 et présenté dans le loyal cut de Flipmode, Flipmode Iz da Squad[1]. Rah Digga publie son album solo Dirty Harriet en 1999, et son groupe apparaît sur le titre Just for You[1]. Signé au label J Records en 2000, Lord Have Mercy quitte Flipmode Squad pour se consacrer à sa carrière en solo, sentant que Busta l'empêchait d'avancer[5],[6].

Le groupe publie son second album, The Rulership Movement le [7]. En 2011, Flipmode Squad devient The Conglomerate[8]. En 2012, le groupe publie une nouvelle mixtape Catastrophic[9].

Flipmode Squad is a hip hop collective founded and fronted by rapper Busta Rhymes. The first Flipmode album debuted in 1998 with The Imperial, Rampage and Rah Digga went on to record solo efforts. In the move to J Records in 2000, Lord Have Mercy left Flipmode Squad in preference of a solo career in 2000, feeling that Busta was holding him down.[1][2] The original line up also included Serious, who after quickly leaving would later produce for artists on No Limit Records, and later acts like Show Money and M. Dollars who were signed to the label as independent artists. Underground MC Roc Marciano would also be signed to the label for a number of years before going the independent route.
