The Denison-Kimball Trio est un groupe de jazz rock expérimental américain des années 1990, créé par Duane Denison et Jim Kimball. Leur musique est totalement instrumentale et inspirée par le jazz, l'avant-garde et les musiques de film[1]. Le premier album du groupe est la bande originale de Walls in the City, un court-métrage réalisé par le réalisateur indépendant Jim Sikora et qui fait participer le chanteur des Jesus Lizard, David Yow[2]. Le nom du groupe change en DK3 après la sortie d'un troisième album, Neutrons, qui fait participer Ken Vandermark. Les membres se séparent en 1999 chacun poursuivant leur parcours, avec Hank Williams III et Tomahawk en 2000[3],[4].

The Denison/Kimball Trio (sometimes known as DK3) were a musical duo consisting of American guitarist Duane Denison and American drummer Jim Kimball. Their music was completely instrumental and heavily influenced by jazz, the avant-garde and movie scores.[1] The group's debut album was the soundtrack to Walls in the City, a short film directed by independent filmmaker Jim Sikora and featuring Jesus Lizard front-man David Yow in a bit role.[2] The band's name was changed to DK3 with the release of their third album Neutrons, which included Ken Vandermark on reeds.
