Years and Years était un groupe de musique britannique formé à Londres en 2010. Le trio était composé d'Olly Alexander au chant et au clavier, de Mikey Goldsworthy à la basse et d'Emre Turkmen au synthétiseur. Il est depuis mars 2021 un projet individuel d’Olly Alexander. Le groupe est principalement connu pour leur single King sorti en . Au mois de mars de la même année, le groupe est vainqueur du BBC Sound of 2015[1].

Débuts


Le groupe s'est formé en 2010, après que Mikey a quitté l'Australie pour emménager à Londres. Il a rencontré Emre en ligne, sur un site de musiciens. Peu de temps après, c'est Olly qui rejoint le groupe après que Mikey l'a entendu chanter sous la douche à une fête. Ils ont très vite commencé à créer des sons ensemble, simplement pour s'amuser, et les ont ensuite transformé en chansons.

Le chanteur du groupe Olly Alexander a annoncé la séparation du groupe le 18 mars 2021, tout en précisant cependant qu’il continuerait à produire de la musique sous leur nom d’artiste.

Years & Years is the solo project[1] of British singer Olly Alexander. Originally formed as a band in 2010, Years & Years' music has been described as electropop, mixing R&B and 1990s house elements.
