Biografia

La band si è formata nel 1994 con il nome Underfree ed ha tenuto questo nome per due anni prima di dare alle stampe l'EP di debutto nel 1996. Il primo album, l'eponimo Blindside, è uscito invece nel 1997. Dopo l'uscita di A Thought Crushed My Mind la band si è esibita dal vivo in supporto ai P.O.D. e ha firmato per la Elektra Records.

Nel 2002 ha pubblicato Silence e l'anno seguente ha supportato dal vivo gli Hoobastank. Nel 2004 è uscito l'album About a Burning Fire, che vede la partecipazione di Billy Corgan, membro degli Smashing Pumpkins.

Nell'agosto 2005 è stato pubblicato il successivo album The Great Depression, seguito da un EP dal titolo The Black Rose, diffuso nel giugno 2007. Nel periodo successivo il gruppo ha intrapreso un periodo di pausa. Nel 2011 ha dato la notizia di un nuovo album in arrivo: With Shivering Hearts We Weat è uscito quindi nel maggio 2011.

Blindside ist eine christliche Post-Hardcore-Band aus Stockholm. Ihre Musik wird oft auch als Alternative Rock bezeichnet, was nicht falsch ist, doch den Bandmitgliedern „ist es grundsätzlich nicht wichtig, in ein bestimmtes Genre kategorisiert zu werden“. Dennoch ist die Bezeichnung Post-Hardcore laut Sänger Christian Lindskog „am meisten angebracht“. Gegründet wurde die Band – inspiriert durch amerikanischen Metal, Grunge und der damaligen Alternative Rock-Szene – 1994 unter dem Namen Underfree und nannte sich 1996 in Blindside um.

Blindside is a Swedish rock band from the southern suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden.[3] They formed in Stockholm in 1994 as Underfree. In 1996, they changed their name to Blindside and released the Blindside album in 1997 through Swedish independent record company Day-Glo Records. Another album, A Thought Crushed My Mind, came out in 2000. The group received greater attention in 2001 when they toured with P.O.D., resulting in a contract with Elektra. In 2002 they released the album Silence and in 2003 they toured in support of Hoobastank. A 2004 headlining tour suffered equipment theft but then Blindside released About a Burning Fire. Losing support from their label, the next year Blindside released The Great Depression independently, and they put out the DVD Ten Years Running Blind.[4]
