Storia

Nati a Denver, in Colorado nel 1992[4], i Cephalic Carnage pubblicarono alcune demo a partire dal 1993, che attirarono l'attenzione dell'etichetta italiana Headfucker Records, con cui pubblicarono il loro primo album, Conforming to Abnormality, nel 1998.[1]

Nel 2000 firmarono un contratto con la Relapse Records e da allora tutti gli album sono stati prodotti da quest'ultima (inclusa la riedizione dell'album di debutto).[1]

Il loro primo show in Europa fu in Germania nell'estate del 2003, seguito dal loro primo tour nel continente americano, nell'ottobre del 2003.

Stile musicale

I Cephalic Carnage coniarono, per descrivere il proprio stile, il termine "rocky mountain hydro grind". Nonostante suonino principalmente grindcore e death metal, il gruppo presenta numerose influenze sperimentali, jazz[1], doom, sludge, hardcore e metalcore[2][4].

Cephalic Carnage est un groupe de deathgrind américain, originaire de Denver, dans le Colorado[1]. Formé en 1992, le groupe compte six albums studio et tourne notamment en Amérique du Nord, en Europe et au Japon. Le groupe mélange les nombreux genres de metal sur ses albums, comme le doom metal, le sludge metal, le metal progressif, etc. Leur genre principal restant le grindcore et ses dérivés. Le groupe parodie aussi certains genres sur ses albums, comme le metalcore avec le morceau Dying Will Be the Death of Me ou le black metal avec le morceau Aeyeuchg!. Le groupe considère que son style de musique est de l'hydrogrind.
