La band ha iniziato ad ottenere successo attraverso il canale YouTube del cantante Cody Carson e venne in seguito messa sotto contratto dalla Equal Vision Records dopo la pubblicazione di una serie di extended play di successo. Dei due album in studio che hanno pubblicato, entrambi hanno trovato posto nella classifica Billboard 200; Cinematics (2012) ha raggiunto la posizione 174 mentre Duality (2014) si è posizionato all'86ª.

Stile musicale e influenze

Agli inizi della band, i Set It Off si inserivano in un genere synth pop punk. Ora è maturata e si è definita come orchestral pop punk, nonostante la maggior parte dei suoni di archi orchestrali sia programmata con i sintetizzatori e aggiunta durante la produzione piuttosto che registrare i tradizionali strumenti acustici. Kerrang! ha inoltre riassunto il genere in pop rock.[3] Le influenze della band includono Fall Out Boy, Four Year Strong, My Chemical Romance, All Time Low, New Found Glory, A Day to Remember, Forever the Sickest Kids, Relient K, *Nsync, Destiny's Child e We the Kings.

Set It Off ist eine 2008 gegründete Pop-Punk-/Alternative-Rock-Band aus Tampa, Florida. Die Gruppe steht seit 2011 bei Equal Vision Records unter Vertrag und veröffentlichte die drei Alben Cinematics aus dem Jahr 2012, Duality im Jahr 2014 und "Upside Down" im Jahr 2016 über das Label. Außerdem erschien über die Plattenfirma die EP Horrible Kids im Jahr 2011.

Set It Off is an American punk band formed in 2008 in Tampa, Florida. The band initially gained a large following through vocalist Cody Carson's YouTube channel. Their following took on the name "143 family" later to be known as "Dreamcatchers". Set It Off was subsequently signed by Equal Vision Records after releasing a string of successful extended plays. In 2018 they signed to Fearless Records, and in February 2019 the band released Midnight, their fourth studio album, through the label.
