Il gruppo, attivo nell'area di Detroit, pubblicò due soli album, entrambi nel 1970, Don't Hold Back[1] e Sailor's Delight[2]. Entrambi i dischi furono prodotti nel Regno Unito da Jimmy Miller, che era anche il produttore dei Rolling Stones.

Lo stile musicale, nel filone dei Grateful Dead dell'epoca, era di tipo country con contaminazioni hard rock.

Il gruppo è noto principalmente per via del suo cantante Doug Fieger, che in seguito si sarebbe trasferito a Los Angeles per dar vita al gruppo The Knack.

Sky was an American rock power trio active in the early 1970s, based in Detroit, Michigan. It released two albums with RCA (Don't Hold Back in 1970 and Sailor's Delight in 1971) before breaking up in 1973. It's mostly known today as an early point in musician Doug Fieger's career, later the frontman of The Knack.[1][2]
