Elliot Easton, né le 18 décembre 1953 est un guitariste américain.

Biographie

Elliot Easton est né en 1953 à Brooklyn (New York). Il étudie la musique au 'Berklee College of Music'.

Au milieu des années 1970, Elliot Easton fait partie avec le chanteur et guitariste Ric Ocasek et le bassiste et chanteur Benjamin Orr d'un groupe qui joue dans les night clubs de Boston, Cap'n Swing.

Après la dissolution du groupe Cap'n Swing en 1975, Ocasek, Orr et Easton forment, toujours à Boston, le groupe de new wave The Cars avec le claviériste Greg Hawkes et le batteur David Robinson (musique) en 1976.

Elliot Easton est membre des Cars de 1976 à 1988.

Après de nombreux tubes et plusieurs albums disques de platine, les Cars se séparent en 1988, sans publier d'avis officiel de séparation.

Easton entame alors une carrière solo.

Il retourne avec les Cars en 2010.

Elliot Easton (born Elliot Steinberg,[1] December 18, 1953)[2] is an American guitarist. He played lead guitar and sang backing vocals for The Cars, and his guitar solos are an integral part of the band's music. Easton has also recorded music as a solo artist, and has played in other bands. He is a left-handed guitarist.[2] In 2018, Easton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Cars.
