He was awarded the People's Artist of Russia award in 2009.[1] He is also a member of Russian Writers Union.
Mityaev is the author and first performer of the popular bard song So Good That All We... (1978).[2]

Оле́г Григо́рьевич Митя́ев (род. 19 февраля 1956, Челябинск[1]) — советский и российский автор-исполнитель, музыкант, актёр. Член Союза писателей России. Народный артист Российской Федерации (2009)[2][3]. Художественный руководитель Киноконцертного зала «Эльдар» (с марта 2021 года)[4]. Автор и первый исполнитель песни «Как здорово, что все мы здесь сегодня собрались» (1978).
