Dionisios Solomós (en griego, Διονύσιος Σολωμός; 8 de abril de 1798 – 9 de febrero de 1857) fue un poeta griego de Zante. Es más conocido por haber escrito el Imnos eis tin Eleftherían («Himno a la Libertad»), cuyas dos primeras estrofas se convirtieron en el himno nacional de Grecia en 1823.

Era de una familia poderosa de Zante y en 1808 fue a Italia a estudiar derecho. Tras diez años volvió a Zante con una sólida formación en literatura. Solomós llegó a ser famoso como poeta durante esta época, cuando aún era joven.

Al final de 1828 dejó Zante y se estableció en Corfú para dedicarse a la poesía. Lo último que escribió fueron sonetos.

Murió de apoplejía. Sus restos fueron trasladados a Zante en 1865.

Dionysios Solomos (/ˈsɒləmɒs/; Greek: Διονύσιος Σολωμός [ði.oniˈsios soloˈmos]; 8 April 1798 – 9 February 1857) was a Greek poet from Zakynthos. He is best known for writing the Hymn to Liberty (Greek: Ὕμνος εις την Ἐλευθερίαν, Ýmnos eis tīn Eleutherían), which was set to music by Nikolaos Mantzaros and became the Greek and Cypriot national anthem in 1865 and 1966 respectively. He was the central figure of the Heptanese School of poetry, and is considered the national poet of Greece—not only because he wrote the national anthem, but also because he contributed to the preservation of earlier poetic tradition and highlighted its usefulness to modern literature. Other notable poems include Ὁ Κρητικός (The Cretan), Ἐλεύθεροι Πολιορκημένοι (The Free Besieged). A characteristic of his work is that no poem except the Hymn to Liberty was completed, and almost nothing was published during his lifetime.
