Kostas Karyotakis (griechisch Κώστας Καρυωτάκης, * 30. Oktober 1896 in Tripolis; † 21. Juli 1928 in Preveza) war ein griechischer Dichter und Prosaist und gehört zu den umstrittensten Persönlichkeiten der neugriechischen Literaturgeschichte. Er prägte eine ganze Generation und löste das Phänomen des Karyotakismus aus, wurde jedoch von vielen Kritikern abgelehnt. Er ist heute einer der meistgelesenen neugriechischen Lyriker.

Kostas Karyotakis (Greek: Κώστας Καρυωτάκης, 11 November [OS October 30], 1896 – 20 July 1928) is considered one of the most representative Greek poets of the 1920s and one of the first poets to use iconoclastic themes in Greece. His poetry conveys a great deal of nature, imagery and traces of expressionism and surrealism. He also belongs to the Greek Lost Generation movement.[1] The majority of Karyotakis' contemporaries viewed him in a dim light throughout his lifetime without a pragmatic accountability for their contemptuous views; for after his suicide, the majority began to revert to the view that he was indeed a great poet. He had a significant, almost disproportionately progressive influence on later Greek poets.

Kóstas Karyotákis (grec moderne : Κώστας Καρυωτάκης) (1896–1928) est l’un des poètes grecs les plus représentatifs des années 1920[1]. Sa poésie contient beaucoup d’images tirées de la nature et des tendances à l’expressionnisme et au surréalisme. Il se suicida en 1928. Son œuvre, peu appréciée de son vivant, est représentative du climat de scepticisme qui prédomine dans la génération des poètes de cette époque[2]. Odysséas Élytis, dans Chronique d'une décennie[3], le présente cependant comme « le grand favori » des années 1925-1930.
