Biografia

Con Mark Stein, Vince Martell e Carmine Appice fondò il gruppo Vanilla Fudge, attivo nella seconda metà degli anni '60.

Nel 1970 fu tra i fondatori del gruppo Cactus. Nel 1972 fece parte del power trio Beck, Bogert & Appice insieme a Jeff Beck e Carmine Appice. Collaborò con Bob Weir (The Grateful Dead) al progetto Bobby & the Midnites.

Nel 1977 lavorò col gruppo britannico Boxer. Nel 2000 con Appice e Rick Derringer formò un gruppo chiamato DBA. L'anno prima era stato inserito nella sezione "rock" della Hollywood Walk of Fame.

John Voorhis "Tim" Bogert III[1] (August 27, 1944 – January 13, 2021) was an American musician. He graduated in 1963 from Ridgefield Memorial High School in his hometown of Ridgefield, New Jersey.[2] As a bass guitarist and vocalist he was best known for his powerful vocal ability and his fast runs, fluid agility and ground-breaking sound on his Fender Precision bass. He was one of the pioneers of using distortion with his bass to help it cut through the mix with the low-powered amps of his time which also imparted a very sharp-edged sound to it. He was a frequent collaborator with drummer Carmine Appice; the duo performed in such bands as Vanilla Fudge,[3] Cactus and the power trio Beck, Bogert & Appice.[4]
