Bogdan Volkov is a Ukrainian-born Russian operatic tenor. Volkov is the winner of the second-place prize at Plácido Domingo's Operalia, The World Opera Competition in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2016[1] and came in first place at the Paris Opera Competition in 2015.

Bogdan Volkov studied singing at the R. Glier Kiev Institute of Music. In 2013 he completed his vocal studies graduating from Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. From 2013 to 2015, he was a member of the Young Artists Program at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. During this period, Bogdan made his role debuts as Simpleton in Boris Godunov by M. Mussorgsky, as Mozart in Mozart and Salieri by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, as Kai in The Story of Kai and Gerda by S. Banevich, and as Vladimir Igorevich in Prince Igor, by A. Borodin.

In February 2014, Volkov debuted as Lykov in the new production of The Tsar's Bride by N. Rimsky-Korsakov. Additionally, he travelled with the Bolshoi Theatre tours to Vienna, Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Lincoln Centre Festival.

In October 2015, Volkov debuted as Lensky in Eugene Onegin by P. Tchaikovsky, working with director Dmitry Tchernyakov and conductor Alexander Vedernikov at the Bolshoi.

from 2016 to 2018, Volkov was a soloist with the Bolshoi Theatre.

In 2017, Volkov took part in the new production of M. Weinberg's The Idiot, playing the role of Prince Myshkin at the Bolshoi Theatre, where he was the first performer of this role. In July 2017, he sang Lensky at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and Savonlinna Opera Festival. In 2019 Bogdan Volkov, took part in Dmitri Tcherniakov at State opera in Berlin in «Betrothal in a Monastery” conducted by Daniel Barenboim and at Theatre Royal de la Monnaie de Munt in “Tale of Tsar Saltan” conducted by Alain Altinoglu.

In August 2020, he sang Ferrando in Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, making his debut at the Salzburg Festival. With this role he debuted at Teatro alla Scala in 2021.
