On August 13, 2017, Miyata passed the auditions for new members of Keyakizaka46's subgroup Hiragana Keyakizaka46 (now Hinatazaka46) and became one of the second generation members in that group.[2] In the group, she is known for her cutesy character, commonly known in Japan as burikko, which she often demonstrates in the group's television show.[3] For the group's second single title song "Do Re Mi Sol La Si Do", she was positioned in the second row of the choreography for the first time.[4] She went on health leave from November 2020[5] to March 2021,[6] during which she also graduated from university.[7] Her fandom name is "Team Hemoglobin" (チームヘモグロビン, Team hemogurobin) or "Team Hb" for short, and her Showroom live streaming sessions are called the Blood Donation Room.[8]
On April 28, 2022, her twenty-fourth birthday, Miyata opened her official Instagram account. She is the first second generation member to have an official Instagram account.[9]
On September 7, 2022, she announced on her official blog that she would be graduating from the group due to health concerns.[10] No date has been set for her graduation.[10] She would not participate in the music recording for the single "Tsuki to Hoshi ga Odoru Midnight", but would appear in the bonus content videos.[11][12]
Miyata enjoys reading and frequently recommends books to other Hinatazaka46 members.[13] She extensively studied the classic poem collection Man'yōshū when in university and occasionally discusses literature in the group's television shows.[14][15]
Miyata first published literary work is the short story "Senbō" (羨望, lit. 'Envy'), which is part of the collection Saiteina Deai, Saikō no Koi (最低な出会い、最高の恋, lit. 'The Worst Encounter, The Best Love') along with stories by voice actress Shiina Natsukawa and comedian Matsumoto Club [ja], compiled by the literature social networking service Monogatary.com [ja] and published digitally in December 2018.[16] She was one of fifteen entertainment figures who offered book recommendations as part of the 15th anniversary celebration of Kobunsha Classics New Translation Collection in November 2021, in which she endorsed the twelfth century short story The Lady who Loved Insects.[17] In February 2022, she participated in the fourth Idol Tanka Party organized by the Tanka Study Society [ja], in which the participants competed in writing tanka poetry.[18][19]
Voice actress and singer Kaori Ishihara's photobook Terminal, released in March 2022, features a photo session and dialogue between Ishihara and Miyata.[20] Miyata is a longtime fan of Ishihara and had previously invited her as a guest in a Hinatazaka46 radio program.[21]
In early 2021, Miyata graduated from Kokugakuin University Faculty of Letters and also obtained her librarian certification.[7] Her interests include reading classical literature and collecting Japanese temple and shrine stamps (御朱印, goshuin).[13] She respects Akane Moriya, a former member of Sakurazaka46.[22]
