John Marshall (4 janvier 1962), était le guitariste du groupe de Thrash metal Metal Church.

Biographie

Il était le roadie de Kirk Hammett de Metallica.

Il fit partie de Metallica en tournée en 1986, et était dans le car où Cliff Burton perdit la vie.

Il a fait à nouveau partie en 1992 de Metallica comme guitariste rythmique durant la tournée où James Hetfield ne put assurer cette tâche, à la suite d'un incident sur scène.

Il remplacera Kurdt Vanderhoof dans le groupe Metal Church de 1988 jusqu'à la séparation du groupe en 1994.

Il fit aussi partie du groupe Blind Illusion. Il était à la reformation de Metal Church en 1998, mais quitta le groupe en 2002.

Il a été invité en décembre 2011 à jouer avec Metallica pour leur trentième anniversaire.

John Marshall (born 4 January 1962) is an American musician. He is the former guitarist for the metal band Metal Church (1986–1996, 1998–2001). He was the guitar tech for Metallica's lead guitarist Kirk Hammett.[1] Marshall also became the fill-in rhythm guitarist for Metallica's James Hetfield on two occasions when Hetfield was injured. First in 1986 (while still performing his duties as guitar tech) while Hetfield's wrist was broken due to a skateboarding accident, and again in 1992 when Hetfield was recovering from pyrotechnics burn injuries stemming from a concert with Guns N' Roses in Montreal during the Guns N' Roses/Metallica Stadium Tour. Marshall joined the band onstage for a performance of Sad But True during Metallica's four-day 30th anniversary concert in December 2011 at the Fillmore in San Francisco. He also briefly played in progressive thrashers Blind Illusion (which also featured Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde of Primus).
