Tomoyasu Hotei (布袋寅泰 Hotei Tomoyasu, né le 1^er février 1962 à Takasaki, Préfecture de Gunma) est un chanteur et guitariste rock et acteur Japonais. Il devient célèbre dans les années 1980 avec son groupe rock Boøwy et continue en solo après la séparation du groupe en 1988. Il a la particularité de mesurer 1,90 m. Il est marié à la populaire actrice et chanteuse Miki Imai depuis 1999. Il est connu en Occident pour son titre instrumental Battle without honor or humanity, qui est repris sur la bande originale du film Kill Bill et a pendant longtemps servi de générique à l'émission de football Téléfoot sur TF1.

Tomoyasu Hotei (布袋 寅泰, Hotei Tomoyasu, born February 1, 1962), also known simply as Hotei (/ˈhoʊteɪ/ HOH-tay), is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, composer, record producer and actor. With a career spanning more than 35 years, Hotei claims record sales of over 40 million copies and has collaborated with acclaimed artists from around the world.[1] Hotei first rose to prominence in the 1980s as the guitarist for Boøwy, one of Japan's most popular rock bands, before starting a solo career.

За свою более чем тридцатилетнюю карьеру продал миллионы альбомов и сотрудничал с выдающимися исполнителями со всего мира. Впервые прославился в 1980-е годы как гитарист Boøwy  (англ.) (рус. — одной из самых популярных японских рок-групп. Потом начал сольную карьеру. В 2003 году музыкант занял 70 место в списке «100 наиболее важных японских поп-актов» по версии HMV Japan[1]. В 2011 году в опросе среди японцев на тему, какой гитарист, как они считают, может лучше всего представить Японию, Хотэй занял 2 место[2].
