Biografia

È nata a Brooklyn da padre cubano e madre portoricana.[1]

Grazie a Dave Grusin e Larry Rosen è entrata nel mondo discografico e in particolare nella GRP Records. Il suo primo album Angie è uscito nel 1978 è ha avuto molto impatto grazie soprattutto al brano This Time I'll Be Sweeter, coscritto da Gwen Guthrie.

Dopo l'uscita di Angel of the Night (1979), è passata alla Arista Records, etichetta di riferimento anche della GRP con cui ha inciso Something About You (1981), album prodotto da Narada Michael Walden, e altri quattro dischi fino al 1985.

Nel 1988 è uscito Intuition per Capitol Records. Ha inciso altri due dischi negli anni '90.

Nel 2006 è stata colpita da un infarto ed è rimasta paralizzata nella parte sinistra del corpo.[2]

Sus primeros dos álbumes, Angie de 1978, y Angel of the Night de 1979, lograron una gran recepción en los mercados del R&B y el jazz. Aquejada por algunos problemas de salud, Angela regresó a los escenarios para dar un recital titulado "The Angela Bofill Experience", junto a artistas como Maysa Leak, Phil Perry y Melba Moore.
