Biografia

Nata e cresciuta a New York, Joi Cardwell è salita alla ribalta a inizio anni novanta come interprete di due singoli di successo di Lil Louis.[1] Nel 1995 ha pubblicato il suo album di debutto The World Is Full of Trouble. Ha in totale piazzato undici brani nella top ten della Dance Club Songs, tra cui due al primo posto.[2] Nel 2013 ha vinto un IDMA Award.[3] Tre anni più tardi è stata posizionata 43ª in una classificata stilata da Billboard dei migliori artisti dance di tutti i tempi.[4]

Joi Cardwell (born October 8, 1967) is an American singer-songwriter,[2] author,[3] holistic health coach.[3] Born and raised in New York City, she performed in various singing competitions as a child and rose to fame in the early 1990s as a guest vocalist for Lil Louis on the number 1 Dance singles "Club Lonely" and "Saved My Life". The release of Cardwell's debut album, The World Is Full of Trouble (1995),[4] established her as a solo artist worldwide and featured the Billboard Dance top-five singles number-one singles "Jump for Joi" and "Love & Devotion". Her second album, Joi Cardwell (1997), spawned the top-charting singles "Soul to Bare", "Run to You", and "Found Love".
