Nominato due volte ai Grammy Award, inizia la carriera nel 2003, firmando un contratto discografico con la MCA Nashville Records. Da allora ha pubblicato otto album in studio e numerosi singoli, esordendo quattro volte alla prima posizione della US Hot Country Songs,[1] vendendo oltre 13 000 copie complessivamente nel Paese.[2]

Nel 2008 recita inoltre nel film film Billy: The Early Years.[3]

Biografia

Cresciuto nella Carolina del Sud, ha origini inglesi. Dopo la scuola si è trasferito a Nashville per intraprendere la carriera musicale nell'ambito della musica country.

Ha debuttato nel dicembre 2001 durante il Grand Ole Opry. Nel 2003 ha pubblicato il suo album d'esordio, seguito tre anni dopo da Your Man, album anticipato dalla traccia omonima scritta con Jace Everett. Riceve due nomination ai Grammy Awards 2007.

Il terzo album in studio è uscito nell'ottobre 2007 ed è intitolato Everything Is Fine. Questo disco contiene un duetto con Trisha Yearwood.

Haywire, quarto album in studio, è stato pubblicato nel febbraio 2010, mentre nel giugno 2012 è la volta di Punching Bag.

Joshua Otis Turner (born November 20, 1977) is an American country and gospel singer and songwriter. In 2003, he signed to MCA Nashville Records. That same year, his debut album's title track, "Long Black Train", was his breakthrough single release. His second album, Your Man (2006) accounted for his first two number-one hits: "Your Man" and "Would You Go with Me", while 2007's Everything Is Fine included a No. 2 in "Firecracker". Haywire, released in 2010, produced his biggest hit, the four week No. 1 "Why Don't We Just Dance" and another number one in "All Over Me". It was followed by Punching Bag (2012), whose lead-off single "Time Is Love" was the biggest country hit of 2012 according to Billboard Year-End.
