Carriera

Nel 1986 ha rappresentato la Norvegia al Yamaha Song Festival di Tokyo con la canzone "Carnival".

Ha vinto il Melodi Grand Prix 1987 andando così alla finale dell'Eurovision Song Contest 1987 con la canzone "Mitt liv" (My Life), scritta da Rolf Løvland e Hanne Krogh, arrivando nona.

Gulbrandsen ha cercato di rappresentare la Norvegia ancora nel 1989, cantando "Nærhet" al Melodi Grand Prix, ma perse.[1]

La sua versione del "Med gullet for øyet" di Jørn Hansen è stata la canzone ufficiale delle Paralimpiadi invernali del 1998 a Nagano, in Giappone.

Kate Gulbrandsen (born 6 August 1965 in Slemmestad) is a Norwegian singer. In 1986 she represented Norway at the Yamaha Song Festival in Tokyo with the song "Carnival". She won the Norwegian national final Melodi Grand Prix 1987 in a very close regional vote, giving her the opportunity to compete for Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 1987 with the song "Mitt liv" (My Life), written by Rolf Løvland and Hanne Krogh. There, in Brussels, she came a respectable ninth.
