Debuttò con l'album studio Rock Will Never Die, pubblicato nel 1986. Con il settimo album, The Livelong Day, vinse nel 2005 il premio come "Miglior Cantante Uomo" ai Korean Music Awards[3][4]. La sua canzone che ha avuto più successo è stata 소녀시대 (Girls Generation), della quale è stata fatta una cover, nel 2007, dal girl group k-pop Girls' Generation.

Lee Seung-chul (* 5. Dezember 1966 in Seoul, Südkorea) ist ein südkoreanischer Sänger. Bis 1989 war er Frontsänger der Rock-Gruppe Boohwal. Seitdem veröffentlichte Lee zahlreiche Solo-Alben. 2005 erhielt er einen Korean Music Award in der Kategorie Bester Sänger.

Lee Seung-chul (Korean: 이승철; Hanja: 李承哲; born December 5, 1966)[2] is a South Korean singer best known for the hit songs, "My Love", "Never Ending Story", and "Girls' Generation". Currently an artist of Kakao Entertainment's label Flex M, he debuted in 1985 as the vocalist of the rock band Boohwal, which he left in 1989 to release his first solo album, Don't Say Good-Bye.[3][4][5] He has released 12 Korean studio albums in total.[6] He is also active in Japan, where he is known by the stage name Rui.[7]
