È il leader della band Kingsized, fondata ad Atlanta, in Georgia.[1][2]

Viene acclamato dalla critica soprattutto quando si esibisce con il suo alter ego Puddles Pity Party. Come Puddles, Geier è apparso in alcuni video di YouTube a partire dal 2013, inclusi alcuni video con i Postmodern Jukebox. Attualmente si esibisce quasi esclusivamente come Puddles.[3]

Biografia

Michael Geier è nato a Filadelfia, in Pennsylvania, quinto di sette figli di "Big Oz" e Peg Geier.[4] È cresciuto a Richmond, in Virginia. Vive e risiede ad Atlanta dal 1995 con sua moglie Shannon Newton.[4][5][6] All'inizio degli anni '90, Geier guidò la band The Useless Playboys in tournée, prima di stabilirsi ad Atlanta nel 1995.[5] In questo periodo, Geier fondò i Kingsized.[4] Diversi anni dopo, Geier iniziò a sperimentare un progetto a tema clown chiamato Greasepaint, che gettò le basi per il suo alter ego successivo Puddles.

Michael Geier (born March 12, 1964), known as Big Mike Geier, is a singer, actor, and entertainer based in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.[1][2] Geier has garnered international fame through his most critically acclaimed act: a Pagliacci-type clown alter ego named Puddles Pity Party. As Puddles, Geier has toured North America, Europe, and Australia; and has released content under the Puddles moniker since 2013. Geier is well known in the Atlanta entertainment circut, having garnered a reputation for himself through his Elvis Presley themed Christmas shows and charity events, and he has also collaborated with musical acts like Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox.[3] Geier now performs almost exclusively as Puddles, and he also refers to Puddles in third person when speaking about the character.
