Biografia

Nata in Kentucky, ha esordito nel 1986 con un album omonimo. Da allora è considerata una dei più importanti esponenti del movimento "neotraditional country". Ha registrato anche album pop e bluegrass. Dal 1998 è stata membro del Grand Ole Opry. Quattro dei suoi album sono stati certificati disco di platino.

Nel corso della sua carriera ha vinto due Academy of Country Music (1996 e 1997) nella categoria "Artista femminile", un American Music Awards (1989), tre Country Music Association, due Grammy Awards (1998 come miglior collaborazione country vocale e 2011 come miglior album bluegrass) e altri premi.

Patty Loveless (born Patricia Lee Ramey, January 4, 1957) is an American country music singer. She began performing in her teenage years before signing her first recording contract with MCA Records' Nashville division in 1985. While her first few releases were unsuccessful, she broke through by decade's end with a cover of George Jones' "If My Heart Had Windows". Loveless issued five albums on MCA before moving to Epic Records in 1993, where she released nine more albums. Four of her albums —Honky Tonk Angel, Only What I Feel, When Fallen Angels Fly, and The Trouble with the Truth – are certified platinum in the United States. Loveless has charted 44 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including five which reached number one: "Timber, I'm Falling in Love", "Chains", "Blame It on Your Heart", "You Can Feel Bad", and "Lonely Too Long".
