Biografia

Tanya Tucker nacque a Seminole, Texas da Beau e Juanita Tucker. Crebbe tra Willcox e Phoenix, in Arizona ed iniziò cantando all'età di sei anni, sulle orme della sorella maggiore La Costa. Ha inciso il suo primo hit, Delta Dawn all'età di tredici. Delta Dawn andò alla posizione numero sei nella classifica country.

Dall'età di 15, ha avuto una nomination Grammy, una "Greatest Hits" ed è apparsa sulla prima pagina del Rolling Stone magazine. A 19, divenne la seconda donna artista country ad avere come teenager al numero uno un single con la canzone What's Your Mama's Name. A 21, incontrò il cantante Glen Campbell ed ebbe una relazione lunga un anno con lui, durante il quale lei ha cominciato a combattere l'aggiunta dell'alcool e della cocaina.

Tanya ricevette un premio come (Top New Female Vocalist) dall'Academy of Country Music nel 1972 ed il premio (Female Vocalist of the Year) dalla Country Music Association nel 1991.

Ha tre bambini, Presley Tanita, Beau Grayson e Layla, ed è un'avida competitrice nelle competizioni equestri di cutting.

Tanya Denise Tucker (born October 10, 1958)[2] is an American country music singer and songwriter who had her first hit, "Delta Dawn", in 1972 at the age of 13. Over the succeeding decades, Tucker became one of the few child performers to mature into adulthood without losing her audience, and during the course of her career, she notched a streak of top-10 and top-40 hits.[3] She has had several successful albums, several Country Music Association award nominations, and hit songs such as 1973's "What's Your Mama's Name?" and "Blood Red and Goin' Down", 1975's "Lizzie and the Rainman", 1988's "Strong Enough to Bend", and 1992's "Two Sparrows in a Hurricane". Tucker's 2019 album While I'm Livin' won the Grammy Award for Best Country Album, and "Bring My Flowers Now" from that same album won Tucker a shared songwriting Grammy for Best Country Song.[4] Tucker's documentary The Return of Tanya Tucker Featuring Brandi Carlile was released to theaters Fall 2022.
