"Nemohamo Rumor" (Japanese: 根も葉もRumor (ねもはもルーマー), romanized: Nemohamo Rūmā, lit. 'Groundless Rumor') is the 58th single by the Japanese idol girl group AKB48. It was released on September 29, 2021. Member Nana Okada served as both lead singer and choreographic center.[1]

This single is released a year and a half (560 days) after previous work, "Shitsuren, Arigatō" and also marked as only AKB48 members to participate since "Chance no Junban" in 2010.[2] The single set to be released in seven physical format, which are Type-A, Type-B, Type-C for regular and limited edition version and also theatrical version.[3] The release of this single was first announced at the group solo concert to commemorate their 15th anniversary on May 23, 2021 at Pia Arena MM.[4] Later, for members who participating for the main track announced on July 7, 2021.[5]
This is the first single after member Hitomi Honda returned from Iz*One,[6] last single to member Yui Yokoyama, and also first single after member Minami Minegishi graduated from the group. Member Nana Okada returned as center after single Jabaja which was released in 2018.[7]
"Nemohamo Rumor" was performed for the first time at TBS broadcasting program "THE MUSIC DAY 2021" on July 17, 2021.[8][9] For health reason, member Yuki Kashiwagi is substituted by Erina Oda for choreography performances during her hiatus.[10] The choreography, which is styled as Lock Dance is done by Jun Kandabashi, the dance teacher of Mie High School dance club "Serious Flavor"[11] who also appeared in the music video.
"Hanarete Ite mo" (離れていても) was first released in 2020 as charity single and performed by every AKB48 members that time with notable graduated members but later credited as senbatsu from single Shitsuren, Arigatō and graduated members only.[12] Other than the one who already participated in main track, every active member from the group is participated in other B-sides (coupling song).[13]
All lyrics are written by Yasushi Akimoto except off-vocal (instrumental) version tracks.
