Alive in an Ultra World ist ein Livealbum des US-amerikanischen Rockmusikers Steve Vai. Es erschien im Juni 2001 unter dem Label Epic Records.

Trivia

Die Songs auf dem Album wurden gezielt für bestimmte Länder komponiert (mit Ausnahme von Devil’s Food, das schon leicht variiert auf Fire Garden war). Geschuldet logistischen Problemen, konnten nicht alle Stücke in jenem Land, für welches sie geschrieben wurden, auch aufgenommen werden.[3]

Die Musikwebsite Allmusic vergab drei von fünf möglichen Sternen für das Album. Allmusic-Kritiker William Ruhlmann bezeichnete das Album als interessant und fand dass Vai gut mit seinen Fans aus allen Kontinenten interagiert.[4]

Alive in an Ultra World is a live album by Steve Vai, recorded during The Ultra Zone world tour in 2000, and released in 2001. The songs compiled on this album were written specifically for the countries that Vai and his band were visiting. All of the songs were first released on this album, with the exception of "Devil's Food", which was originally released on Vai's 1996 album Fire Garden. Due to logistical complications, some songs could not be recorded in the nation they were written for.[2]

Alive in an Ultra World en un álbum en vivo de Steve Vai, grabado durante el tour mundial The Ultra Zone en el año 2000, y salido a la venta en 2001. Las canciones compiladas en este álbum fueron compuestas específicamente para los países que Vai y su banda visitaban. Exceptuando "Devil's Food" que se encuentra en su álbum Fire Garden, esas canciones fueron escritas durante largas pruebas de sonido y no pueden ser encontradas en álbumes previos.
