How the West Was Won ist ein Livealbum der Hard- und Bluesrock-Band Led Zeppelin. Es erschien 2003 bei Atlantic Records. Es enthält Live-Aufnahmen von Led-Zeppelin-Konzerten am 25. Juni 1972 im LA Forum und 27. Juni 1972 in der Long Beach Arena.

2003 wurden die Lieder offiziell auf den Markt gebracht, nachdem sie jahrelang nur als Bootlegs illegal zu erhalten waren. Das Album schaffte es, obwohl die Band seit 1980 nicht mehr existiert, mit mehr als 154.000 verkauften Exemplaren auf Platz eins der Billboard 200 Charts.

Das Album besteht aus drei CDs, die alles Material von beiden Konzerten enthalten.

LA Drone auf CD 1 ist lediglich 14 Sekunden lang und enthält nur Fan-Rufe. Dazed and Confused auf CD 2 und Whole Lotta Love auf CD 3 sind Medleys aus drei bzw. 5 Liedern.

How The West Was Won —en español: Como fue ganado el oeste— es el triple álbum (que hace el decimoprimero y último del catálogo oficial, además de ser el tercero en directo) de la banda de rock inglesa Led Zeppelin, en el que se recogen parte de las actuaciones ofrecidas por el grupo 25 de junio de 1972 en el foro de Los Ángeles (L.A. Forum) y, dos días después, el 27, en el Long Beach Arena de California, en los Estados Unidos. Fue publicado originalmente en marzo de 2003. En el momento de su salida al mercado, alcanzó el número uno de las listas a ambos lados del Atlántico, y hoy por hoy, sigue encumbrado entre los top de ventas de las más famosas vendedoras discográficas.
