Es wurde im April 2011 aus ihrem Debütalbum Who You Are (2011) als dritte Single veröffentlicht. Das Lied wurde von Jessie J, Claude Kelly und Andre Brissett geschrieben[1] und vom letzteren produziert.[2]

Hintergrund

Nobody's Perfect ist musikalisch als ein R&B-Lied zu sehen. Am 15. April 2011 erklärte Jessie J in einem Interview mit Digital Spy, dass Nobody's Perfect als dritte Single aus ihrem Debütalbum, nach den Hits Price Tag mit B.o.B (2011) und Do It Like a Dude (2010), veröffentlicht wird.[3] Jessie J beschreibt Nobody's Perfect als eines ihrer Lieblingslieder aus ihrem Album.[3] MTV gab bekannt, dass die Single vorerst nur im Vereinigten Königreich veröffentlicht wird.[4] In einem Interview mit The Sun sagte Jessie:

Das Interview wurde am 20. April im britischen Radiosender von BBC ausgestrahlt. Nobody's Perfect wurde in den Santisound Studios in Los Angeles, Kalifornien aufgenommen.[1]

Musikvideo

Das Musikvideo hatte seine Premiere am 14. April 2011 im Vereinigten Königreich auf Jessie Js Vevo-Kanal.[5] Es wurde in Anlehnung an Alice im Wunderland gedreht, somit nimmt das Musikvideo Bezug auf den Film und weitere Märchen.

Charts

In Irland erreichte die Single Platz 14 der Charts[6] und in Großbritannien Platz 9.[7]

In Deutschland erreichte die Single bei ihrer Veröffentlichung Platz 48. Im November 2012 gelang ihr nach der Interpretation durch eine Kandidatin während der Casting-Show The Voice of Germany der Wiedereinstieg in die deutschen Charts und mit Platz 40 eine neue Höchstplatzierung ein Jahr nach Veröffentlichung.

"Nobody's Perfect" is a song by English singer-songwriter Jessie J from her debut studio album, Who You Are. The song was written by Jessie J, Claude Kelly and Andre Brissett, and it was produced by Brissett and Kelly, and refers to a struggle about perfection complex and regret over past indiscretions.[2] It was released as the album's third single on 27 May 2011 after being served to radio stations on 20 April 2011.[3] Its physical release was originally set to 23 May 2011,[4] however it was pushed back to 30 May 2011 for an impact release.[5][6] The single version was remixed by Tom Elmhirst and is slightly different from the album version with re-recorded vocals and a heavier beat. "Nobody's Perfect" peaked at number nine in the United Kingdom, becoming Jessie J's third top ten single. On The Voice, Jessie J and Vince Kidd sang "Nobody's Perfect" as a duet.
