The single reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is Carnes' last top-40 entry to date. The track also reached number 24 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.
The song also achieved some European chart success, in addition to giving Carnes a top-three entry in South Africa, her biggest since "Bette Davis Eyes" reached number one there in 1981.
