It was released on November 23, 2012 by Motown Records as the second international single and fourth overall single from the album.[1] Ne-Yo co-wrote the song with its producers, StarGate, Bingo Players, Phatboiz.

Ne-Yo first performed "Forever Now" on The X Factor Germany on November 25, 2012. The music video was filmed in October 2012 by director Ryan Pallotta and was released on November 30, 2012.[2][3]
