The album debuted at number 2 on the Country Albums chart and number 8 on the Billboard 200 for the week dated June 20, 1998 with 93,000 copies sold in the first week. It stayed in the Top 10 for 13 weeks on the former.
The album was released as an Enhanced CD, featuring a multimedia presentation that included behind-the-scenes videos and pictures.[2]
A bonus limited edition EP was made available when consumers bought both If You See Him and Brooks & Dunn's If You See Her at the same time.[3]
