The album was a nominee for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year – Solo at the 2001 Juno Awards.[3] The album art is a photo taken by Neil's daughter Amber with the Game Boy Camera.[4]

Comics adaptation
Vertigo Comics made the production of the comic book adaptation of the album with the same title.[6] Writer Joshua Dysart and Neil Young were involved in the project.[7] Greendale graphic novel (ISBN 1-4012-2698-1) was released in June 2010,[8] with Cliff Chiang providing the art.[9][10]
