"The Actor" was released as the fourth single on 7 February 2022. The album received a four-star rating from The Guardian, who said it was a "stroll around the curiosity shop". In the same review the band's embrace of American sounds was noted.

The Dream — четвёртый студийный альбом английской инди-рок-группы alt-J, выпущенный 11 февраля 2022 года лейблом Infectious Music и подразделением Canvasback Music лейбла Atlantic Records. Альбом был анонсирован 22 сентября 2021 года вместе с выпуском первого сингла «U&Me»[13]. В тот же день в публикации Stereogum был опубликован трек-лист альбома The Dream[14]. 3 ноября 2021 года был выпущен сингл «Get Better», сопровождаемый музыкальным видео в пиксельной графике[15]. 5 января 2022 года был опубликован третий сингл — «Hard Drive Gold», а 7 февраля того же года был выпущен четвёртый сингл, «The Actor».
