The title is Swahili for "the beehive of culture."[9] It spawned three singles ("United Front", "Africa's Inside Me" and "Ease My Mind"). In 1994 the album charted on the Billboard 200, peaking at number 55;[10] and on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, peaking at number 20.[11] It was considered a commercial disappointment.
