The Great War is the ninth studio album by Swedish heavy metal band Sabaton. It was released on 19 July 2019.[2][3] It is the first studio album to feature guitarist Tommy Johansson.[4] Like many of Sabaton's albums, it is a concept album, this time about World War I, often known as the Great War. The songs cover multiple stories from the war, including those of Manfred von Richthofen, T.E. Lawrence, Alvin York, the Attack of the Dead Men, the Battle of Verdun, and others.

The Great War (с англ. — «Великая Война») — девятый студийный альбом шведской пауэр-метал группы Sabaton, выпущенный 19 июля 2019 года[3][4]. Это первый альбом с участием Томми Йоханссона в качестве гитариста. Первый сингл альбома, «Fields of Verdun», был выпущен 3 мая 2019 года, за ним последовал сингл «The Red Baron», выпущенный 13 июня того же года. Сингл на заглавную песню, «Great War», был выпущен 27 июня. Четвёртый сингл, «82nd All the Way», был выпущен 20 июля. Альбом был выпущен в четырёх изданиях: стандартное издание[5], историческое издание с повествованием, предшествующим каждому треку[6], Soundtrack Edition, содержащее инструментальные версии композиций[7], эксклюзивное издание Sabaton History Patreon, содержащее повествование Индианы Найделл[8].
